Clinical Pharmacist (Senior & Team Supervisor), Hired through Global Medical Solutions to work in Zayed Military Hospital, Abu Dhabi; March 2010 – Current. Duties & Responsibilities: Dr. Sa’adah is currently serving as the clinical pharmacy team supervisor at Zayed Military Hospital in addition to his specialized practice of clinical pharmacy with a broad interest in pharmacotherapy and nutrition support including that given to medical (e.g. cardiovascular), oncology, critical care, pediatrics, and surgery patients. He reports directly to the Head of Pharmacy and represent the department in a number of committees within and outside the hospital including charts, infectious diseases, and local purchase committees as well as pharmacy and therapeutics committee. He also led the team who initiated and expanded the Intravenous admixtures as well as the unitdose services at the hospital. Dr. Sa’adah arranged a number of clinical pharmacy seminars and contributed to the continuous education programs in the hospital. In addition, he worked in teams and published on a number of research projects. Moreover, he was part of the pharmacy and hospital teams who worked on passing the Joint Commission for International Accreditation Survey in 2011 and 2014. He helped establish the first pharmacist-managed anticoagulation clinic in the hospital. Furthermore, he organized the first Hospital Pharmacy Conference in the Middle East Region in May 2014. He is both a national and international invited speaker on various topics. Examples of quality improvement projects Dr. Sa’adah initiated and played a major role in are: Medication Reconciliation for all patients on admission, transfer, and discharge. (Best Practice according to JCIA in 2014). Evaluation of utilization of a number of medications such as meropenem, dabigatran, liraglutide, and ticagrelor. Development of policies and guidelines, and optimizing prescribing for vancomycin, warfarin, meropenem, controlled medications and total parenteral nutrition. 2. Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (Pediatrics), Pediatric Pharmacotherapy Specialty Group, Urban & Cure Pharmacy, Abu Dhabi, UAE; August 2008 – November 2009. Duties & Responsibilities: Dr. Sa’adah initiated this idea and project during his lecture titled “the role of the pediatric clinical pharmacy specialist” in the nationwide continuous professional education (CPE) program in Abu Dhabi, September 2008. These locations will initially be pharmacy locations that will be reengineered to facilitate the delivery of pediatric pharmacy services. Second, Dimensions is a medical informatics company that will be responsible for implementing the informatics aspects of the project such developing a website for the group and providing pharmacy, insurance, and patient databases. Last, the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi will provide the guidelines and approvals for the practice. Dr. Sa’adah will lead the project and volunteer as an expert consultant while recruiting new consultants. 3. Oncology & Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (Locum), Gulf International Cancer Center in affiliation with the George Washington University Medical Center, Abu Dhabi, UAE; October 2008 – January 2009. Duties & Responsibilities: Dr. Sa’adah was recruited through Urban and Cure Pharmacy as a locum pharmacist (3-month contract as Oncology Pharmacy Specialist) based on the request of Gulf International Cancer Center in affiliation with the George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Sa’adah was the first pharmacist in this center and served as the leader and founder of the chemotherapy pharmacy services. Dr. Saadah used his strong relations and communications skills to build the pharmacy stocks and the intravenous chemotherapy clean room and practice per the standards of the Joint Commission of International Accreditation (JCIA). Dr. Saadah worked on a team of medical and radiation oncology consultants and oncology specialist nurses to provide chemotherapy services to cancer patients and for the first time in a private, specialized, day-case, cancer treatment center in the UAE. 4. Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacotherapy Specialist (Pediatrics), Tawam Hospital & Johns Hopkins Medicine, Al Ain, UAE; December 2007 – August 2008. Duties & Responsibilities: Dr. Saadah Lead the pharmacists practicing in the pediatric department and units. Dr. Saadah served as a national and international speaker invited to conferences in USA, UK, UAE, and other countries. Dr. Saadah Initiated and conducted the first UAE-wide Tawam Pharmacotherapy Workshops which was evaluated by attendants as strongly satisfactory (more than 4.5 out of 5) and helped double the passing rate in the Board Exams for the year 2009 (20% to 40%). Dr. Saadah also continued to be the primary clinical pharmacy practitioner in the areas of pediatric and neonatal intensive care units and a primary investigator in a number of clinical research projects, both nationally and internationally, utilizing artificial intelligence and in various medical departments including infectious diseases, cardiology, critical care, neurology, and pediatrics. 5.
