2015 Rainfall
The total rainfall recorded for 2015 at Bridge Farm, Chediston, was 534.73mm, making it
overall the driest year since 2012 when daily records started. The driest month was April,
with 15.76mm of precipitation, and the wettest month was July, with 100.5mm of
precipitation recorded. However, the July figure is heavily distorted by the single rainfall
event which occurred on 24th July, when 50mm of rain fell. There were significant dry
spells in February, when no measurable precipitation occurred between 6th and 12th, in
April, when there was an 11 day drought from 13th to 23rd, and in July, when only
0.75mm of precipitation occurred between 15th and 23rd, the drought being broken with a
vengeance the following day. By contrast, November and December were months of
almost daily rainfall. Only 4 days without measurable precipitation were recorded in
November, with rainfall recorded on each of the last 15 days of the month. There were 9
days without measurable precipitation in December, with rain occurring on every day
from Christmas Eve to the end of the month.
