Mission of the programme “Bachelor in International Economy” is training of well-qualified socially responsible experts who possess universal basic professional knowledge and skills corresponding to the demands of the contemporary labour market in order to ensure competitiveness of domestic enterprises and Ukraine’s economy under the conditions of globalisation. 1.2. Educational goals of the programme The BA Programme in International Economy aims to provide a comprehensive educational programme at undergraduate level which builds on earlier subjects and levels, while allowing students to shape their profile by selecting appropriate/desirable elective modules. The objective is to provide students with the understanding of the role that companies play in international business and the influence of the global environment upon them. In addition, students are required to identify and analyse business problems and evaluate alternative solutions. This work is set against a background of the international environment in which businesses operate. The programme’s philosophy is underpinned by a commitment to developing students as independent autonomous learners, keen to pursue knowledge and understanding in and outside the classroom. The programme aims to enable students to: Study organisations, their management and the changing international environment in which they operate. Identify and analyse business problems, and evaluate alternative solutions, while gaining lasting understanding of challenges and opportunities. Study, analyse and critique complex theoretical debates, and apply to both theoretical underpinning and case studies Understand the economic environment within which business operates Understand the international economic and business environment and the forces that exist within it. Prepare for a career in business and management (in Ukraine, working for local companies with international activities, foreign firms keen to invest in Ukraine or developing their own business entities). Gain awareness of the working environment within a business organisation. Contribute to society at large by enhancing life-long learning skills and personal development.
