Necessary Supplies One three ring binder with a width of two to three inches. This will be the only binder that students take to ALL classes. Student Expectations NO ZIPPERED BINDERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN CLASSES Eight POCKET dividers for the binder; one for each class. Parent Expectations One basic and FLAT pencil/supply holder that fits IN the binder. One basic calculator, one ruler, college rule paper, pens, pencils, colored pencils, a small three ring hole punch. Four composition books: for language arts, science (graph composition book), and math. Engineering Specific Supplies: 2 graph composition books, one roll clear tape, 1 8GB flash drive, 1 package graph paper, pens, mechanical pencils. Behave respectfully at all times in all places Fill in your planner hourly on a daily basis Get all classwork and homework done on time Be prepared and dressed appropriately Get your planner signed by a parent EVERY weekend Check your grade on StudentVue weekly Keep your cell phone off and in your locker unless your teacher says to bring it to class for a lesson. Read your child’s planner every weekend to see what he/she did for the previous week, and SIGN IT. Projects will be assigned quite frequently - in all subject areas - all year long. Students will generally have two to five weeks to complete each project, please help your student manage the time so it does not all pile up on him/her at the last minute. Your student will have at least 30 minutes of homework/reading on a DAILY basis. If he/she does not have an assignment/project to be working on, encourage and help them study information in their notes. Please e-mail teachers directly. The classroom teacher deals with your child daily and has the most information to help you and your student. Late work will be accepted with a penalty up until the end of each quarter: 50% penalty for 6th and 7th grade, and 75% penalty for 8th grade. Please be aware of each individual teacher’s syllabus and refer to it regularly. Curriculum AZ College and Career Readiness standards and Project Lead The Way standards, will be used by the teachers to make sure your student is prepared for the AZMerit state testing, and Cambridge students will be supplemented with Cambridge standards in addition to the state standards in order to be prepared for the Cambridge exams.
