Writing your book jacket biography…
Process:
1. In the library, read through several book jackets as examples.
2. Plan your own book jacket contents. Keep the biography brief, but you are required to include these details:
 First and Last name
 Location/Home: Where you are from (or hope to be from some day)
 A statement about your writing experience (what sort of writing you do, how many things you’ve
written, your writing background.)
3. Consider including these areas (you must include at least two):
 Where you graduated (or hope to graduate from some day) from high school
 Where you plan to attend college, or how you plan to further your education
 What you spend your time doing (hobbies or interests)
 Offices held or activities you participate in at school
 Awards, honors, or recognition
 Information about your personal web site
4. Find a favorite digital picture of yourself. Email it to yourself or save it online where you can copy/paste it
into your project.
5. Type your book biography into your newsletter or document.
