HOW TO GET TO RADOM Pick-up at the Frederic Chopin Airport ON SUNDAY 7TH APRIL We will arrange a bus to pick up all students arriving to the Frederic Chopin International Airport in Warsaw on Sunday 7th April to pick you up and give you a lift to the Students’ Residence, Radom. Ul. Akademicka 3. Some Polish students will meet you at the Airport Please, let us know, what time are your flight arriving. We will let you know what time the bus will leave from Airport to Radom. The city of Radom is located in Central Poland, about 100 km south of Warsaw. At the airport When you arrive at the Frederic Chopin International Airport in Warsaw and you miss the pick-up you have to follow the following way. The airport is located 7 km from the centre of Warsaw. From the airport you can take the city bus No 175 or taxi to the Warszawa Centralna Station (the trip will take about a half an hour). The bus fare is approximately about 3,- PLN. You can buy bus ticket from the little kiosk/newspaper shop/ at the airport or from the bus driver. TAXI is about 30 PLN. At the railway station From Warszawa Centralna (Warsaw Railway Central Station), you can catch the train to Radom. There are direct connections to Radom, but in some cases you will have to change trains. The journey to Radom will take 2 to 3 hours. The train fare (one way) costs about 30 PLN. Unfortunately, you cannot get any discount with the ISIC Card (International Student Identity Card) on trains. Please see the train connections and ticket prices: www.pkp.pl It may be a good idea to print the timetable beforehand to make the ticket purchasing easier. You can buy tickets at the Warszawa Centralna Station from the little blue counters (agencja biletowa PKP) you can find in every corner of the station. Please remember that you need some local money (Polish zloties) for buses, trains and taxis. At bus station You can check buses from Warszawa Zachodnia Station to Radom, Bus Station, on: www.pks.pl You have to take city bus No 175 to get from the Warsaw Airport to Warszawa Zachodnia Bus Station. Ticket is about 3,- PLN and can be purchased at KIOSK or Relay Shop at the Airport. One way ticket is about 25 PLN. Reduced tariff is available with Polish Student Card, only. Tickets can be purchased at “Kasa biletowa” Arrival by car The best idea is to drive Road 7 road from Cracow to Gdańsk or Road 12 from Poznań to Lublin. Safe car park is situated in the area. Price is about 80 PLN/ 2 weeks. ARRIVAL DAY Sunday, 7th April 2013 Participants arriving to the Warsaw International Airport will be picked up by our University car. Polish students will be there to pick you up. Those who will arrive earlier have to wait until the last group of students will come. EU citizens staying temporarily in Poland are entitled to free health care on the basis of European Health Insurance Card issued in the home country. Non EU citizens should buy health insurance in the home country before the departure. So, please, remember to buy your health insurance policy in your country before departure to Poland. To avoid paying all costs of your treatment bring your health insurance policy with you. You are advised to buy insurance package covering value of your personal property and third person liability, too. TRAVEL COST REIMBURSEMENT Teachers’ and students’ travel cost will be paid from the IP grant up to the budget. Public transport means are recommended. Taxi is not refunded. Reimbursement of travel cost will be made only: home university-Radom-home university. To apply for travel cost reimbursement every participant of the IP Radom should provide us with: 1. It means, the lowest price of train, bus, plane ticket on the same itinerary (upon certificate of travel agency) will be refunded up to 0,22 Eur/km. Reimbursement for one person, only, is eligible, irrespective the number of travelling persons. Your declaration stating why you have decided to travel by car, is required. Parking or meals cost on the way are not eligible ones and should be treated as co-financing. The IP is coordinated by University of Technology and Humanities in Radom, Poland, The IP is co-financed by the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) Erasmus through the Foundation for the Development of the Education System LLP-Erasmus, Polish National Agency. It is a 3-year project started from the academic year 2013/2014. The first implementation is held in Radom, Poland. For two active weeks, 34 international and 10 local students will work together with over 10 international and local teachers for lecturing, discussions, laboratory classes, excursions etc. within area of urban transport. The students will prepare PowerPoint presentations in groups as well as a short scientific paper as a part of their activity. The program entitles the students to obtain 5 ECTS credit points. Global Village During the IP there will be an activity called Global Village where all students in national groups will provide flavours from their country to the other students. Please remember to take with you some traditional foods or drinks (easy to carry and offer), and music in order to organise dance folk competition. Sport Facilities Sports Hall Address: ul. It will be composed of four options multiple choice questions - Final IP evaluation and grade Following items are taken into account: - attendance - activity during lectures - power point presentation 5 ECTS will be appointed to the students who will achieve grater score than 50/100.
