SUMMARY
Available to teach assigned courses. Teaching assignments may be on site, skills lab or offsite
locations in which include evening and weekend programs. Participates in college-wide activities
and outside recruitment. Ensures program compliance with CoAEMSP and NREMT standards.
Works closely with faculty and staff to maintain standards in training students according to EMS
curriculum and standards. Coordinates clinical and field internship sites including orientation to
field preceptors to the EMS learning outcomes. Evaluate and assess clinical sites depending on
program need. Collaborates with clinical sites to prepare and orient students to community
agencies. Ensures clinical contract status of field internship sites. Schedules students in
community agencies for clinical learning experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Below are listed the primary tasks identified for this position. The duties articulated though not
exhaustive, indicate the majority of the functions assigned to this position. Other duties may be
assigned based on institutional need.
Must have personal and educational philosophy compatible with the goals, objectives, and
mission of North Florida Community College.
1. Assists program director with programmatic accreditation through CoAEMSP and
maintenance of standards related to accreditation.
2. Collaborates with clinical sites to prepare and orient students to community agencies, and
field preceptors to EMS learning outcomes.
3. Works with program director to secure clinical contractual agreements according to
college policy and procedures.
4. Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and staffing for the National Registry of
Emergency Medical Technicians on skills testing.
5. Provides oversight for skills lab, selecting and ordering of equipment.
6. Coordinate clinical and field internship sites including orientation to field preceptors to
the EMS learning outcomes. Evaluate and assess clinical sites depending on program
need.
7. Maintain student course, immunization records, and clinical and criminal background
check records. Maintain current student liability insurance information for classroom and

clinical sites.
8. Collaborate with Program Director and faculty on clinical internship sites.
9. Participates in recruitment and retention activities.
10. Available to instruct students in the classroom as well as lab activities.
11. Engage in college professional development activities.
12. Assist the program director in the development of scenarios for hi-fidelity simulations
and provide faculty support in use of simulator programs.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. Must be a Florida certified Paramedic and
have at least (4) years’ experience at an Advanced Life Saving (ALS) Service Center. Must hold ACLS
and CPR instructor certifications.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
individuals, employees, students, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply
concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret
an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several
abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain a current Florida Paramedic license. Licenses must be maintained completing required
CEU's. Must be current in CPR and ACLS.
