The Hunger Games Multiple Intelligence Project

The Hunger Games Multiple Intelligence Project
You must choose one of these 7 options. They each total 50 points. Think about your
strengths when choosing; this is meant to challenge you and show off your talents.
The Map Maker: Construct a detailed and colorful map of Panem with symbols for key
events from the plot. This could be a 2-D flat map on poster board or a 3-D diorama on
plywood. It should be neat and have some historically correct facts, but you may also
embellish from your interpretations of the land and topography. Include a written
description about each symbol and its significance.
The Counselor: Design a chart with descriptions of key allies in the novels with
benefits. Also list antagonistic relationships with obstacles. You are to act as a coach to
three different characters and must explain the benefits of alliances and consequences of
potential enemies. Carefully advise any conditioning/ skills / knowledge the characters
should glean to optimize their chances of survival.
Diary maker: Choose a character and write three pages of diary entries with specifics
from the novels. Show how the character develops and changes throughout the book(s).
The Composer: Write and perform a rap or folk/ country song with several stanzas and a
chorus that mentions specifics from the story but also includes your opinion or “spin” on
it.
The Actor / Actress: Act out a few scenes of significant length with a script that is
written by you with clear parts. Block scenes for emphasis on character’s personalities.
The action should not be violent. (Think theatrical fighting with no direct contact, but
staged fighting.) The script must be typed and include blocking instructions (where actors
should stand, what props are used, when actors should enter) You may act with a partner
or partners but it is your individual grade for the script and performance. Each student
would be responsible for a different script and blocking instructions.
Poet: Write three poems with specific events and characters from the novels. These can
also include your opinion of character development and plot. Poems may rhyme or not.
(No simple acrostics please.)
The Artist: Draw some comic strips or a series of 4 detailed pictures from key scenes.
Drawings should convey emotions and the personalities of characters and settings. The
pictures need original titles that capture the big idea. Comic strips need some dialogue.
All pictures need a paragraph synopsis that describes why you chose this scene and what
is happening at this time in the novel.
