Ragdale Hall opens new experiential Beauty Shop
Famed for our flagship Thermal Spa, fluffy white robes, luxury treatments, delicious food, sumptuous
surroundings and outstanding customer service, Ragdale Hall has everything any spa-goer could wish for. But
at Ragdale we don't rest on our laurels and we're delighted to announce our amazing new Beauty Shop is now
open.
Now offering guests an unrivalled spa-based beauty retail experience, the 80m2 shop has several hundred
different products from leading brands including Clarins, Elemis, Decleor, Spa Find and OPI.
But as well as stocking everyone's favourite products (and new products yet to be discovered), clever design
enables the new fixtures to transform into consultation and workshop areas for feet, hands and make-up.
Beauty Shop Manager, Rose Spencer, said: "We wanted to create a space that not only looks sleek and
modern, but also offers practical solutions to the specific activity we want to offer in the shop, like make-up and
skincare consultations. Guests want to learn about the products, try them out and discover how to use them.
By adding in features such as swing out seating, pull out counter tops and make-up stations, any member of
our Beauty Shop-based team can transform an area quickly and deliver a personalised consultation or
workshop, so it's very hands-on and gets the guest fully involved. It allows us to be responsive to our
customers and give them a friendly, comfortable, high quality experience - which is what Ragdale is all about."
A laser-cut composite in a champagne finish enhances the walls and contrasts with copper-toned metallic-look
laminate trims, completing the fresh, crisp look of the shop. Sympathetically incorporated digital screens
display up-to-the-minute product news and offers for guests.
Rose adds: "We have some of the UK's best therapists and product advisors at Ragdale Hall and they now
have the perfect, professional environment to work in. As a result, our guests receive the best possible
combination of product knowledge, choice of brands and product lines, and surroundings in which to browse,
sample and learn about the products. It's all very leisurely and relaxed and guests receive recommendations
and experiences which are personal and unique to them. This is knowledge they can take away with them and
continue to benefit from - I don't believe there's anything quite like this anywhere else."
The Beauty Shop at Ragdale offers some of the best beauty buys with product offers always available,
including free gifts with purchases and special deals. Workshops and masterclasses for guests and Ragdale's
Country Club members run during the day and evening, making the shop a very social, as well as practical,
environment.
The Beauty Shop was designed by Fieldwork of Buckinghamshire and saw the footprint of the previous shop
increase by 60 per cent. Ragdale Hall continued their commitment to using local businesses and suppliers with
Nottinghamshire builder Frank Goulding Limited carrying out the main structural work, while Leicestershirebased Aley Shopfitting took care of installing the bespoke cabinets - which were hand made in their Wigston
workshop - and finishes. The work to extend the Beauty Shop wasn't completely straight-forward, as the team
had to merge elements of the original 1785 Hall and an existing extension from the 1970s with the new,
modern development. But, despite also encountering Ragdale Hall's original plunge pool during the
excavation, the project came in on time.
As is often the case with Ragdale Hall, the service and experience extends beyond the few days guests visit
the Hall. The Beauty Shop is another example of this as the team can also be contacted over the phone for
advice, product recommendations, or to arrange for those must-have products to be posted out. It doesn't
quite match up to the delightful and almost therapeutic browsing time in the real shop, but it's not a bad runner
