Sarah has conducted a recent survey of activity and Kate will present a case study as the Principal Investigator for Open SUNY Textbooks (http://opensuny.org). 14.45pm Case studies on the use of e-text books Vanessa Gamet will talk about partnership developments from Proquest (EBL as was) and Andrejs Alferovs who is Managing Director, Kortext will talk on the theme of Widening Access to Digital Textbooks Proquest negotiated a e-textbook pilot in partnership with Cengage Australia, launching the pilot in April 2014 with the intention to review at the end of the year. Cengage initially provided 7 E-textbook titles but because of its success, Cengage released another 20 titles in 2015, including a number of first run, first year titles. And as to Kortext, Andy will look at how teachers and learners are using digital textbooks online or via download. He will cover how various tools can enhance the learning experience, from reading to note taking, and how the use of content and platforms will evolve with new ebook formats that enhance interaction.
