Learning intention:
I am learning to recognise the names of the places in 6-9
digit numbers and read a 6-9 digit number written in
symbols.
Equipment needed:
A game board – 5 x 8 grid with 7 digit numbers
36 game cards
40 counters (20 in each of 2 different colours)
How to play:
(2 players or 2 teams of 2)
Place all the cards face down in a pile.
Each player picks a card.
The player with the lowest number begins. (Replace cards
and shuffle)
The first player picks up the top card, reads the 3
numbers and says (if the numbers were put in numerical
order), the number that comes between the other two.
The card is then placed face up so that all the players can
see all of the numbers; the player to the left of the first
player confirms whether the answer is correct. All other
players to verify.
If the player’s answer is correct, a counter can be placed
on this number on the playing board.
The card is then placed in the discard pile.
The first player or pair of players to make a row of 4
counter on the board is/are the winner/s.
