Rules for Dendrite Cranium Number of players: groups of 4-8 Materials: cards with dendrite terms, list of chapter titles that will be used (optional), a 6-sided cube that shows the options for giving clues, timer, materials for building shapes (play dough, straws, etc.) One player turns over a card that contains a term or phrase without letting the other players see the term or phrase. The same player then rolls the cube that has these options: Act It Out, Give Examples of It, Describe It, Build It, Draw It, or Free Choice. The goal is to give clues that will provide enough information so that the other players can determine the term: Act It Out: Use physical motion to act out the term Give Examples of It: Give real world examples of the term – do not use the term or any parts of the term in the examples. Describe It: Use words to describe the term – do not use the term or any parts of the term in the description. Build It: Use the provided material to build a model of the term. Draw It: Draw an example of the term - do not use the term or any parts of the term in the drawing. Free Choice: Choose any of the options above. One point is awarded to the player that first determines the term and one point is also awarded to the player that was providing the clues. If no one determines the term in the allotted time, the term is revealed and discussed to make sure everyone knows the definition, etc.
