They may be new to the industry, from school or another industry, or they may be already working in the industry without a qualification. This qualification is also relevant to pre apprenticeship and work experience programmes relevant to infrastructure works. The qualification gives the graduate an understanding of the infrastructure works industries and the health, safety and environmental knowledge required to work safely on site and with others. These people will work under direct supervision. Graduates of this qualification will be able to: Have an understanding of the infrastructure works industry Have an awareness of and understand the implications of health, safety and the environment on an infrastructure works site Use and care for hand tools, small plant and equipment Perform manual tasks Communicate and keep records Apply self-responsibility and work in a team Special conditions related to this qualification: None Transition arrangements: People currently working towards any of the replaced qualifications may either complete the requirements for that qualification by 31 December 2016 or transfer to this qualification. It is important to note that the replaced qualifications may be substantially different to the new qualification, and may relate to more than one new qualification.
