Dear Parents,
________________ has been chosen to play a very special part in our upcoming Fourth Grade program,
“Raven’s Journey.” The program is scheduled for Thursday, May 3 in the cafeteria, with performances at 8:25 AM
and 7:00 PM.
The musical is about the life of Texas and U.S. hero Sam Houston. As the story unfolds, Sam steps out
of a timeline at different ages in his life. Listed below are your child’s part and a description of his costume. I
have been pulling together parts of costumes and am asking for you to provide the other parts listed, if possible.
If you could provide these parts of your child’s costume for the program, I would be most appreciative. If you will
help us with this, please sign and return the second page of this letter tomorrow, and please send your child’s
costume to school no later than Thursday, April 26.
Additionally, I have attached a copy of your child’s lines. If you can help him to memorize and practice his
lines, this will tremendously build his confidence for the program. It’s important that each of the Sam Houston’s
speak his lines loudly, slowly, and with expression. I am so proud of your child and the effort he shows at school
on a daily basis. I hope this will be a wonderful experience for your child, and for you!
