In order to “equate” the Off Campus and On Campus EDS program Final Presentations, the following Guidelines are to be implemented for all new cohorts. Guests will be invited to the final presentation of the research. Guests will include Piedmont faculty, (full time and part time will be invited) any school system personnel the candidates desire, and any known applicants for future cohorts in the area. Research projects will be presented in groups of seven projects each. Each presenting group or individual will be allowed six minutes for a short presentation to include: A. Their research topic and how it relates to them B. Their hypothesis or research question C. Their Methodology D. Their findings. E. Abbreviated question and answer In addition to the above presentation each group will be required to complete a 36” poster trifold. Candidates will be expected to “man” their table only after their presentation session. Posters should include visually interesting artifacts, tables, etc. from the candidate’s research. It is not to be a display of the PowerPoint presentation, but it may include elements from it. All group presentations shall be loaded sequentially on a jump drive in order to facilitate transitions. After the first group of presentations is completed, presenters will post themselves behind the table assigned for their poster session. At this time all guests are given 20 minutes to visit their stations and comment or ask additional questions. This will repeat for each group of presentations. (Since Research classes are to be split so as not to have more than 12 -15 students per class you should not have more than 12-15 presentations.) The attached rubric will be used to evaluate the presentations and poster trifold. The Evaluators will be the Research professor and the EDS 800 professor. A third professor from those who taught the cohort candidates may also be utilized.
