Martin served on the Advisory Committee of the North Carolina Supercomputing Center from 1996 until its close in 2003. He currently serves as Senior Faculty Advisor for High Performance Computing to the UNCW vice chancellor for Information Technology. He introduced computational chemistry into the chemistry curriculum at UNCW as part of an NSF grant (NSF-9351758) in 1993. Since then he has developed an upper level undergraduate/graduate course in computational chemistry and extended the application of computational chemistry into four upper level chemistry courses at UNCW with the help of a grant from the Dreyfus Foundation (SG-00-004) and a grant from the UNCW Center for Teaching Excellence. Dr. Martin provides workshops each semester on molecular modeling techniques to introduce new faculty and graduate student assistants to the methods. He has also taught several faculty members and their research students and post-docs computational methodology applied to their research problems. e. Collaborations & Other Affiliations Noah W.
