JOB TITLE: Landscape Architect (6 months temporary) LOCATION: London, Hyde Park GRADE AND SALARY: Grade II £24,280 - £29,330 THE COMPANY London’s eight Royal Parks are some of the best-loved and most beautiful spaces in the world. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB To landscape architectural projects including surveying, CAD technical drawing, electronic filing, administrative function, preparation of graphics for presentation and other support functions for initiatives across all Royal Parks. To manage and/or contract administer small to medium projects. To prepare funding and awards applications including assistance with development of annual Green Flag applications for each Park. To prepare reports, research and disseminate information to Royal Parks staff. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES To work closely with the Head of Landscape on landscape architecture and play projects. To manage/contract administer small to medium projects under the supervision of the Head of Landscape or Project SRO. To draw up and prepare small to medium landscape design schemes, including creation of cost estimates for projects and funding bids. To prepare project briefs and manage consultants/specialists. To support the development of funding applications. To proof read documents as part of the quality assurance procedure. To prepare data, design and survey information as directed for documentation and presentation materials. To manage and work with Volunteers OTHER DUTIES To prepare reports for others. To co-ordinate and disseminate information to others in The Royal Parks. To support the Head of Landscape in management of budgets/project finance. To collect and collate landscape design information and data. To undertake survey work as directed. To liaise with stakeholders, deal with enquiries from members of the public, contractors and others through meetings, correspondence and telephone. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES SETTING DIRECTION: 1. Delivering at Pace Create regular reviews of what and who is required to make a project/activity successful and make ongoing improvements Remain positive and focused on achieving outcomes despite setbacks ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS The post holder should hold a relevant degree e.g. BSc landscape architecture/management or equivalent professional qualification. The Post holder should be a chartered member of the Landscape Institute. Membership of an appropriate professional institute e.g. LI, IoH is desirable. A positive attitude and aptitude to pick up and use other IT programmes. Extensive experience of MS Office programmes, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative suite and understanding of other park based IT systems. A thorough knowledge of Health and Safety principles is desirable. Preferably a holder of a current driving licence.
