Pastor’s Report…January 2011
Dennis Anderson
Royal City Church
It’s a pleasure to serve the Lord in the context of our Royal City Church and Centre!
In Summary….
Associate/Director: Kevin has been working along side on many occasions to familiarize
himself with both Centre and Church . Our RCCLC Administrative team will be meeting
regularly on the 4th Tuesday evening of the Month at 7:45. I appreciate Kevin’s heart for
this special area of God’s vineyard
Paul’s send off: This was celebrative and good. Approx 1500.00 in love gifts were
given to these friends. They arrived safe in Calgary on Friday January 14. Bruna begins
work on Jan 20. Email contact through paulgeorge1968@gmail.com . There trip included
a flat tire, a snow storm and a surprising amount of fuel (2 vehicles, one of which was the
26 ft U Haul!)
The work on our budget presentation is clearly understood (I think), in preparation for a
business Meeting Jan 23. Budget presentation will give opportunity to discuss a part time
Youth/Worship team member. The added roof component will also be discussed. I have
contacted our EMCCED personnel to have details clearly in hand in preparation for our
meeting to be able to add 62000.00 to our existing mortgage.
Plan to protect seminar: We need to finalize plans to have this offered soon. I asked
Derek Sanderson to assist in presentation. Joyce Baker has been diligent in arranging
Police checks for our youth team and others as part of the process. (Much appreciated)
The operation of RCCLC Agape Café has been running smoothly with a great team of
caring volunteers. I have been here each evening (But not always until closing time) to
double check on things and to assist as necessary, and will continue most evenings as
needed (except Monday Jan 17 and Wednesday 26th) The day to day operation of the
Centre and caring for our guests is going well (Full but well) Kevin has been able to
assist greatly in this as well. There are lots of rumblings about changes from our guests
but I want to be sure that all understand that we have been, and will continue to assess
everything on an ongoing basis, to be what God wants us to be (not just because Paul is
gone.)  It’s not just about the amount of food but it’s not, not about the food. (If that
makes sense….you may have to read that again sorry)
Our Sunday average attendance has grown to 140. Our Communion times continue to
have the celebrative element that there are new believers participating!  Saturday
evening has averaged 20. Stewart McCann (Jan 15, 22,& 29) and Thomas Gibson (Feb 5)
will assist me in Saturday evening.
The Short Term Missions Brochure has been completed and available. It may need
some tweaking but provides rails to run on!
Weddings: Dianne Jones and Phil Schilling May 14. Daniel Stoneburgh and Kristin
MacQueen May 23. A family wedding for our son Mark and Jamie Hill June 11.(To be
held in Clarkesburg,ON) Shared wedding with Guelph Vinyard Church here on Aug 13.
Many hours have been invested in counselling and visiting with folks in our midst. Your
prayers for vision and great wisdom are appreciated.
I still need to invest additional time in the development of our Small Group ministry. This
will not be possible until after we have transitions the RCCLC work over to Kevin.
