CCHS Associated Student Body 2015-2016 Applications WHO SHOULD APPLY? Any student who has a heart for CCHS, we are looking for you. If you are creative, funloving, organized, a good listener, a leader, computer savvy, an artist, or have any other talent to bring to the table, ASB might be your place to lead. All students who apply for team positions need to read over the entire application and make sure they understand both, the ASB election process and ASB school year responsibilities, before signing their name. ASB 2015-2016 MISSION STATEMENT: Our goal as student leaders of CCHS, is to lead our peers to passionately follow Jesus. Our purpose is to know God, worship together, love others, build spiritually into people, and equip others to know the love of Jesus. We will do this all for God’s glory. ASB 2015-2016 LEADERSHIP THEME: FOLLOW ME. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” John 10:27 ASB 2015-2016 INFORMATION: We have experienced a continuous increase in the interest of CCHS Student Leadership. In order to accommodate all those who are interested in applying for next year, we would ask that you take this application and commitment seriously. Please be aware of all the deadlines and requirements, if you have any questions please contact Miss Loock. This year the application must be turned in on time with all required information in order to ensure your personal commitment to student leadership. ** Reminder: this is only an application process for students who are willing to be part of a CCHS leadership team that will help to design and implement programs, events and information for their peers. Filling out this application does not ensure you a place on student leadership. Students will have to meet other school requirements, as well as, pass through the interview process. *** After completing this application please turn in your application to Miss Loock or the high school office, during an appropriate time (break, lunch, after school). In addition, it is your responsibility to check the posted interview schedule and then to arrive on –time at your appointment. Applications will not be processed until after the interviews. Prayerfully consider the time commitments and the leadership qualities required for each leadership position. Part of the application process includes specifying which leadership team you would like to be a part of, as well as meeting all requirements for each position CLASS COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES (CCR): Weekly Commitment: 1-3 hours a week All members of ASB are a part of their grade level’s CCR. As a CCR member you are there to represent your grade level and work together through the ASB calendar year. Class Council Representatives (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior classes) To be present at all monthly CCR meetings To attend the events set aside for your specific class: (ie. Homecoming, class events, class fundraisers, etc.) To be a part of the spirit of your class To be a liaison between class and ASB Directors ***Presidents will reside over: Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Classes LEADERSHIP TEAMS: Weekly Commitment: 5-6 hours a week All ASB Leadership Teams will be working under the leadership of the ASB Board of Directors. Leadership teams will work together on projects throughout the ASB calendar year. Community Relations Team: To attend weekly meetings of your Community Relations Team To be a liaison between your team and ASB Directors To work directly with the Director of Community Relations to help implement monthly lunch-time activities, student activities and XA. Publicity Team: To attend weekly meetings of your Publicity Team To be a liaison between your team and ASB Directors To work directly with the Director of Publicity to help create weekly publicity: creating posters, banners, decorations for the locker halls, etc. Pep and Spirit Team: To attend weekly meetings of your Pep and Spirit Team To be a liaison between your team and ASB Directors To work directly with the Directors of Pep and Spirit to help out at Pep Rallies, Power Play Games, Rooter Busses, the student store, etc. Media Team: To attend monthly meetings of the Media Leadership Team To work directly with the Director of Media on film projects, graphic design work, photography of events, and social media. To be enrolled in, or have completed CCHS’ Computer Graphics A/B 3 ASB BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Weekly Commitment: 10-20 hours a week The ASB Board of Directors is the leadership of CCHS. All members of the CCHS ASB Board of Directors will abide by the ASB Constitution. ASB is currently accepting applications for the following positions: ASB Director of Community Relations To provide quality, adequate publicity for all events under the direct sponsorship of the ASB Board of Directors. To oversee projects during lunch time and after school and to sponsor XA ASB Director of Media Creates posters and advertisements for our school Creates videos when needed Runs Media team Class Presidents (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior) Manage the internal affairs of their CCR, including the calling of regular and special meetings.
