Cell Dynamics BIO 315 E 1/Tue, 1/Thurs Autumn Term 2015 Textbook: Molecular Biology of the Cell. Alberts et al. 2014. 6th Edition. This course covers the three basic components of the cytoskeleton: microtubules, microfilaments, and (briefly) intermediate filaments. Their structure, dynamics, and their roles in animal and plant cells is presented and explained. There is emphasis on intracellular and whole cell movement. There is a large section on cell division (mitosis only). You are expected to read Chapters 16 and 17 of the textbook, as well as the Methods section of the textbook Chapters 8 and 9.
