South Africa (FTTSA), will be running a two-day seminar on Sustainable Tourism.
IS THIS FOR ME?
The Seminar on Sustainable Tourism (NQF6) offers a practical overview of key issues and trends affecting the sustainability of the tourism industry. It is aimed at local government stakeholders, tour operators, hotel groups, marketers and management of establishments and resorts – large or small – and any other interested parties who are looking to improve their understanding of the economic, social and environmental impacts of tourism, and the ways in which these can be optimized for destinations and communities.
WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
The seminar was developed by Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa (FTTSA), leaders in advocating Sustainable Tourism in South Africa. The content includes the following:
The role of corporate citizenship in tourism
Key terms and concepts in sustainable tourism
The "triple bottom line" of sustainability in relation to tourism
Tools for promoting sustainability in tourism
Trends and drivers of improved industry sustainability
Stakeholders in sustainable tourism
The importance of case study analysis in sustainable tourism; and
An analysis of specific cases illustrating global and South African best practice.
WHAT MUST I DO TO KEEP INFORMED?
The seminar costs R3850.00 per delegate, including lunch and refreshments. In-house training for up to twenty people can also be arranged, at R20 000.00 (R 1 000/person) for facilitation, course materials and certificates.
