2015 Shanghai Art Fair gives a new kind of
The 19th edition of Shanghai Art Fair 2015 will take place in ShanghaiMART (99
Xingyi Road) from 12-15 November 2015, as the Asia famous art festival and the
finale of Shanghai International Festival of Arts.
Recently, the organizer of Shanghai Art Fair released the theme of Shanghai Art Fair
2014 as “Home Decoration Desires Art”.
According to the introduction from Gu Zhihua, the deputy general secretary and
office director of the Shanghai Art Fair organizing committee, this year's theme
"Home Decoration Desires Art" is to connect Shanghai Art Fair as an art transaction
to the public and market demand, combine the art consuming with home decoration,
make the fair close to daily life and to let more families civilize the importance of art
in home. So that more families will pay attention to and participate in art consuming,
then take the first step to art collection.
There is a close relationship among art, architecture and home environment. At
present, many families in Shanghai have their new flats or houses in decorating.
However, many families only focus on the hardware configuration while ignoring the
role of works of art playing in the home decoration. In recent years, according to the
analysis from the sales of galleries in Shanghai Art Fair, in addition to professional
collectors and investors, a considerable part of the customers purchased art pieces for
home decoration. So Shanghai Art Fair hopes the theme slogan of this year can let
more people know Shanghai Art Fair, understanding the property and functions of
