Residential Parking Zone Permits A Residential Permit Parking Zone (RPZ) is an area established by a city ordinance to restrict non-residential parking on neighborhood streets. Residents and their guests are exempt from the restrictions if they are parking legally and displaying a valid RPZ permit. New RPZ Permits Citizens can obtain RPZ permits from Service First. In order to qualify for a permit, the citizen must be a resident in the parking zone. Each household can have as many owner vehicles as they desire, but all vehicles need to be registered through the RPZ permit process. Households are allowed only 4 visitor/guest permits.
