Performance criteria 1.1 Factors influencing the suitability of glass containers for reuse are described in accordance with company procedures. Range 1.2 The reuse of glass containers is explained in terms of systems for reuse. Range 1.3 requirements may include but are not limited to – cleaning, sealing, lids, labels; evidence is required for at least three requirements for safe reuse and three criteria for rejection. Local, national, and international systems for glass reuse are described in terms of benefits, limitations, and market fluctuations. Range 1.5 containers – bottles, jars; systems – refillable, container deposit; reuse for – same contents, different contents. Requirements for ensuring glass containers are safe for reuse, and criteria for rejection, are identified in accordance with company procedures. Range 1.4 factors – quality of glass, contents of container, potential market. at least one benefit, limitation, and market fluctuation for each system. Sorting requirements for glass containers are described in accordance with company procedures. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
