Biography Scrapbook Project
Every person has a story, a biography. As a part of your reading requirements for this
course, you must read a biography or autobiography. As you read through the biography,
make sure that you consult and fill out your graphic organizer so that you can take notes
that will aid you in this project. In addition to this reading, you will create a scrapbook
depicting important events in your character’s life. Your scrapbook will contain six
scrapped pages along with a cover depicting the character’s name as well as your own.

scrapbook paper, construction paper, or copy paper; the choice is yours! Your final
project will be due January 11th. You will have class time to work on this You will be
graded according to the following rubric:
Category
Front Cover (containing your name and book title)
Bio Riddle page
(containing at least six facts in your riddle)
Birth Certificate page
(including full name, birth place, date of birth, siblings, and
parents’ names)
Report Card page
(Make up pretend subjects for your person that shows his or
her strengths or weaknesses. The most important part of
creating this page is the “comments” section. Under the
comments section, you need to give an explanation of why
your character took these classes and why he or she received
these grades.)
News Flash page (You will write a news story about your
person's most important event. You need to have a date for
when your article might have been seen in a newspaper. Make
sure your give your story a headline and a photo. Be sure to not
repeat any story you have already used for another scrapbook
page.)
Wallet page (Make a page that shows at least 4 items that
would have been carried in your character’s wallet, purse, or
bag. These items may include ticket stubs, photos, receipts, or
anything that shows significance to the character’s life.)
Memories page (You will choose three memories from your
person's life. For each you must have a picture, photograph, or
magazine clipping and an explanation for each.)
