Excellence in Clinical Patient Care Purpose: This award is to recognize excellence in clinical practice for a nurse caring for the neuroscience patient in either an inpatient or outpatient setting. This award recognizes the potential of a nurse in the competent to expert stage of career development. Eligibility: This award is open to all AANN members with 3 or more years of neuroscience nursing experience. Individuals not eligible for this award include: Directors at Large for AANN * Candidates may only be considered for one award. No self nominations. Criteria: Characteristics that demonstrate the individual's excellence in clinical patient care and contributions to neuroscience nursing. Examples include: patient care activities/administers patient-centered care mentoring/precepting participation in interdisciplinary initiatives--connects, communicates, and coordinates across multiple departments clinical leadership activities--committee involvement, inspires patient/family education involvement in AANN committee/task force or local chapter demonstrates compassion, patience and confidence demonstrates respect and teamwork with the leadership team and colleagues. Application Describe the characteristics/contributions of the nominee to neuroscience nursing in a 1-2 page summary. Award The award winner will receive up to $1,200 in reimbursement of conference expenses, to be used for the meeting registration fee, travel, and related expenses to attend the AANN Annual Meeting where the award will be presented.
