FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Irvine, Calif. (PRWEB) March 5, 2014 — After reviewing hundreds of solutions providers and consulting
companies, CIO magazine, one of the most highly regarded publications in the information technology
industry, has included Enerliance on their list of 2013 Most Promising Utilities Solutions Providers. The
list, which was featured in CIO’s December 2013 issue, also includes the Open ADR Alliance and
industry leaders such as Opower and Ameresco.
According to CIO, consolidation and globalization is forcing the utilities industry into a market-driven
environment. More than ever before, there is competitive pressure to offer energy delivery solutions that
improve operational efficiency while meeting a dynamic range of customer needs. In compiling the list,
CIO looked at a number of criteria ranging from innovations related to smart grid and smart energy
services; to cloud deployment, big data and analytics; to whether a company contributes to bridging the
gap between information technology and operations technology.
The article states, “As customers and business partners increasingly demand greater empowerment,
utilities [are seeking] to improve interactions and relationships in their entire business ecosystem by
enhancing software capabilities for collaboration, gaining deeper customer and market insight and
improving process management.”
Enerliance, the maker of LOBOS (Load Based Optimization System), is proud to be considered among
the top solutions providers ready to help utility companies adjust to the demands of this changing
business landscape. “After many years of anticipation we’re now experiencing the convergence of the
smart grid, building intelligence and energy solutions,” says Enerliance president Ray Pustinger.
“However, realizing the potential of this convergence requires collaboration between utilities and their
customers as well as technologists and energy solutions providers. We’re so happy to be among the
companies in this list because it recognizes our LOBOS technology as part of the solution.”
LOBOS is an HVAC optimization software platform that delivers energy efficiency every day, and also
allows buildings to easily, automatically and affordably participate in the demand response programs that
are so critical to managing the strain on overworked electricity grids. Because LOBOS constantly
monitors and micro-adjusts the HVAC system during a demand response event, it ensures that a building
meets its demand response obligations while precisely managing tenant comfort. In addition to qualifying
for utility-sponsored rebates, a building outfitted with LOBOS operates within previously unheard of levels
of energy efficiency. The significant energy cost reductions provided by LOBOS energy efficiency makes
HVAC-based demand response participation economically feasible for building owners, thus bridging the
gap between the needs of utilities and the needs of their customers.
Pustinger says that being included in the CIO list is truly an honor, but more important, “inclusion in this
list puts Enerliance in some really great company. The businesses on the CIO list are at the top of their
game, and we are humbled to be counted among them. Enerliance, and our friends on the list, have the
opportunity to make great strides in efficiency and sustainability. We thank CIO magazine for helping get
the word out.”
About Enerliance: Enerliance is the company behind LOBOS, an intelligent optimization system for
large-scale air conditioning systems that offers improved comfort, energy efficiency and fully automated
demand response capability that materially improves bottom lines for building owners and occupants.

capability to the grid along with more than $3.5 million in annual energy savings. The core technologies
behind the LOBOS platform are protected under patent number US 7,890,215 B2.
The LOBOS (Load Based Optimization System) platform is built to be deployed by energy solutions
providers, mechanical contractors, building automation contractors, controls manufacturers, utilities and
