Cohn, MD, FACC Chief of the Cardiology Department, Charlton Memorial Hospital FALL RIVER, Mass. — Peter S. Cohn, MD, FACC, Chief of Cardiology Department at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River and a member of the Truesdale Cardiology Associates, is responsible for overseeing pre- and post-operative cardiac services for Charlton’s new cardiac surgery department. “The inclusion of open heart surgery to the existing cardiac program at Charlton will completely change the hospital,” Dr. Cohn said. “As the cardiac services become more complicated, the pre- and post-operative services including diagnostics and follow-up care will also need to become more advanced.” Dr. Cohn is presently responsible for services such as cardiac stress testing, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, vascular screening lab, patient counseling and cardiac catheterization laboratory. Dr. Cohn is the chief elect of the cardiology department’s executive committee, which rotates among the three cardiology groups serving Charlton Memorial Hospital — Truesdale Cardiology Associates, PRIMA Fall River Heart Associates and Internal Medicine & Cardiology Associates. Dr. Cohn received his fellowship in Cardiology from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and did his residency in internal medicine at Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University. He is board certified in cardiology by the National Board of Medical Examiners and by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Cohn received his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, Rutgers Medical School, in New Jersey. ###
