GETTING TO VILNIUS By Plane Vilnius is easily accessible by air from all major European cities, and there is a few low-cost connections from many of them. Best connecting flights are through the airports of Copenhagen, Prague and Riga. Vilnius Airport ("Oro uostas" in Lithuanian) is just 5 km (15 min) away from the city centre. There are good bus and taxi connections available from the airport to the city centre. The price for a taxi from the airport to the centre is around 20 EUR (with a pick up service). In order to reach the city centre with the public transport, take the bus number 88 from the stop called "Oro uostas" (bus stop is in front of the Airport, turn left right after you go through the Airport door) and get off at the stop called "Centro poliklinika". Public transport usually operates from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. Bus tickets can be purchased directly from the bus drivers, ticket will cost 3.50 LTL (1 EUR). We strongly advise you to preorder taxi if your arrival time is at night. It will take you around 20 minutes to get to any conference hotel from the Airport by taxi. Getting to Vilnius by Train The Berlin - St Petersburg train passes through Vilnius. If you are coming from Poland, you can take a train from Warsaw to Vilnius by changing the train in Sestokai without entering Belarus, and then pick up one of the frequent connections to Vilnius. The direct train from Warsaw to Vilnius passes through Belarus - make sure you have a Belarus transit visa if you require one. There are two European Highways, with branch lines, Via Baltica (Helsinki - Warsaw, part of the E67 Highway that runs to Warsaw and Prague) and West - East (Klaipeda - Moscow).
