All CAES tutors’ are required to carry ID badges. When using school
premises all learners will be required to sign in at reception and be
accompanied to their room during a normal school day. The tutor
will advise learners to the safeguarding protocol of each venue.
There are a few initial assessments which need to be completed
prior to the start of your class, for example, medical questionnaires
on fitness classes or initial assessments. Arriving 10 minutes early
to do this avoids eating up your lesson time and fulfils subsidy
requirements. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
This is a one day course for anyone who wants to learn how to use acrylic
paints. Peter Threlfall is a professional artist who runs courses in a friendly
and relaxed atmosphere.
Learning by Tutor demonstrations and then by having a go yourself, you
will produce samples of different techniques and then move on to some
finished pieces that you will be able to take home and be proud of! All
materials will be provided at a small cost of £5 but if you have your
own materials and brushes please bring them along.
Peter Threlfall has been a professional artist for over 25 years. He was
worked as a commercial artist but also sells his work all over the country
as well as internationally. He specialises in bright textural acrylic paintings,
mostly landscapes and cityscapes. He works from a small studio in Yealand
Redmayne and regularly exhibits at the Milnthorpe Art Exhibition and the
Silverdale and Arnside Art Trail.
The course will cover the basic techniques of acrylic painting. You will be
taught how to apply the paint, how to create texture as well as
composition of paintings and ‘tricks of the trade’. You will learn by tutor
demonstration and then by having a go yourself.
No, this course is suitable for all.
Not applicable
If you have brushes, bring them along although brushes will be provided.
Any sort of acrylic paint you may have. The tutor will be able to supply
some paint at a small cost of £3. Please be aware that acrylic paint does
not wash out of clothes so old clothes or a apron would be useful!
Cartmel and Ulverston run a number of art workshops in varying locations.
Peter is also running further Paint in Acrylic workshops on the 26th
September 2015, Paint in Watercolours on 23/01/16 and also a Mixed
