Instructor Training Courses (4-10 hour programs)
Balletone®: Instructor Training Workshop –Comprehensive
Program (10 hrs)
Balletone Instructor Training offers an exciting teaching opportunity to
fitness/dance professionals seeking new and innovative methods to
train their students and/or personal training clients. The workshop
provides an introduction to the skills needed to teach Balletone and
incorporate Balletone movements and concepts safely and creatively to
a wide variety of clientele. The workshop is designed with both lecture
and movement segments providing opportunities of practice and further
comprehension of the Balletone movements, concepts and class
structure. Balletone movements are approved for ALL AGES and ALL
LEVELS of fitness participants. The comprehensive training offers the
instructor opportunities to work directly with a Balletone Master Trainer
and practice teaching with a variety of other professionals.
Balletone®: Instructor Training Workshop –
Standing Program (6 hrs)
The Instructor Training Standing Workshop provides an introduction to
the skills needed to teach the standing portions of the Balletone class
format: warm up, BarreWork and standing stretch. Students will learn
to incorporate Balletone standing movements and concepts safely and
creatively to a wide variety of clientele. The workshop is designed with
both lecture and movement segments providing opportunities of
practice and further comprehension of the Balletone standing
movements, concepts and class structure. Training at this workshop
includes all areas of the comprehensive 10 hour, except the floor
syllabus.
Balletone®: SOLE SYNTHESIS (4 – 6 Hours)
When barefoot training meets strength, cardio and flexibility in one
workout, fitness takes on a whole new meaning. Sole Synthesis is
“simplicity through triplicity” … no fancy moves here, the idea is to
simply use a movement you’ve done for ages – redefine it, then
transform it seamlessly in three different ways with ONE outcome – a
proactive workout rooted in functional training that will leave you strong,
centered, and actively flexible from the ground up. Specifically designed
to attract three times the crowd, learn to use traditional fitness exercises
you know and love and transform them into Balletone phrases and
Yoga postures for three times the workout. Begin with a fitness move
and MASTER THE MOVEMENT - simply change the focus and
intention to get more from your participant, all without picking up a
dumbbell. Next, transform the fitness element into a Balletone® inspired
pattern which adds long lever, dynamic and active flexibility patterns in
a variety of planes and FLOW THE MOVEMENT. Finally, use a nontraditional Yoga posture to CALM THE MOVEMENT – moving through
poses while adding feet exercises and shoulder girdle stabilization
techniques while allowing participants to refocus and recover, readying
the body for the next challenge. Elevated functional training in the
group fitness room that’s sure to make you sweat!!
BODYREV essentials: (4 hours)
Introducing the world’s first rotational weight system. Created by Alden
Mills, a former Navy Seal, to reduce injury during high-intensity SEAL

and a tremendous cardiovascular challenge. Now you can REV up
your fitness routine with a portable device that is fun to use and
adjustable for all levels of fitness. In this session you will learn the
guidelines of BODYREV program designs so that you can integrate the
15 REVolutionary Base Moves into your current classes, and become a
proficient REV master. Equipment: 1:1 REV ratio
BOSU® Complete Workout System (5 Hours)

chance to learn all about it! This workshop will take you through the

with your clients. In addition, you will get to experience two sample
workouts that bring the entire system to life. Whether you purchase the
system or not, you will still walk away with new tools and ideas for
designing BOSU workouts and accommodating all levels of fitness.

CorePole™ - INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
The CorePole Instructor Training introduces the attendee to the new
CorePole and its many uses in the group fitness and personal training
world! Learn new and traditional anchored resistance exercises,
science behind anchored resistance strength training, and various
techniques unique to the CorePole. This course will cover general
exercise science for functional and integrated movement as it pertains
to resistance tubing, movement patterns for pushing, pulling, and
twisting, general and specific use with CorePole for group exercise,
personal training, and special populations. Various class formats will be
introduced and discussed.
Equipment: CorePole
Gliding™ Basic Training
Come experience the latest and greatest in total body training. Gliding
turns traditional exercises into smooth, consistent, flowing patterns for
unparalleled success. Using the Gliding discs, you will be guided
through exercises for every major muscle group. You will learn to
transform classic exercise staples into power. Experience Gliding for
yourself and see how every exercise is enhanced with the Gliding
Discs. The training will cover applications for stand alone Gliding
classes, gliding integrated into various preexisting classes, and use in
both personal training and kids’ sessions.
Equipment: Gliding Discs
Integrate to Elevate –Team Training (8+ Hours)
A must for those in charge of group fitness programs where the
instructors are certified through several organizations with diverse
backgrounds. You will explore how to bring consistency and integrity to
your programs by bringing out the best in each instructor's individual
style, while mainstreaming for the sake of the participant. Using diverse
class formats, help your instructors "strategize" their classes by giving
appropriate titles and descriptions of what each entails and what one
can hope to achieve. Finish with a round-table discussion about
bringing "team -work" to your staff…longevity of a top-notch program
and member retention relies on class dependent vs. instructor
dependent programs.
Equipment: LCD projector, screen. White board/flip chart

Never Too Old to Exercise
Loss of balance and mobility in the elderly population is a devastating
problem, affecting the lives of both the older adult and those around
him/her. Along with aging, the bones become less dense and more
prone to fracture, posing a significant health risk often leading to
permanent disability. It is known that adults in their 80s and 90s
respond to appropriate exercise training by becoming healthier and
stronger. Strength training improves quality of life within a short period
of time and helps older people become ready for endurance exercise.
Learn to create programs for older adults that will teach how to be fallresistant, improve strength, balance and flexibility. This workshop will
consider safety, medical and medication concerns, assessment
techniques and appropriate exercise prescriptions. Progressions will be
included with the goal of improving the ability to perform activities of
daily living as well as exercise. A water component may be included.

Nordic Walking® by Exel: Baby on Board - Nordic Walking During
Pregnancy
Doctors and prenatal fitness experts agree, exercise during pregnancy
is a must and walking is one of the safest, most effective workouts a
pregnant woman can do. In fact, the American College of Obstetrics
and Gynecology lists walking as one of the only forms of exercise
during pregnancy that requires no modifications! Add the benefits and
challenges the Nordic Walking poles provide and you’ve got a perfect
prenatal fitness routine. Nordic Walking increases upper body strength
and endurance, a must for new moms. Walking with the poles reduces
the stress to the joints, which become weakened during pregnancy. The
poles provide increased safety by adding stability and alleviate neck,
shoulder and low back pain, all common complaints in the pregnant
population. The Nordic Walking poles provide the same intensity as
running without the high impact and at a lower rating of perceived
exertion, making this form of exercise effective, efficient and fun for
pregnant women of all fitness levels.

Yoga for Athletes
Bring the experience of Yoga to the level that athletes can relate to.
Traditionally, athletes don’t do yoga because of fear of painful
stretching or because they think it’s too “far out”. Athletes want to
move, they want power. But they also need focus, endurance, and
strength within their flexibility. Astanga Yoga brings all this and more to
the practice. By linking the postures through flowing movements called
vinyasas, and by supporting each held posture with breath and pelvic
locks, athletes will experience yoga in ways they can understand and
see the value in. Astanga yoga is a full-body, strength and flexibility
practice that requires full concentration and focus. It will teach the
athlete to use their strength to create flexibility, and to use movement to
create release. This practice creates tremendous internal heat, which
enhances the “stretchability” of muscles. Even iron will bend if you heat
it up!
