ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS:
No food or drinks are permitted outside of the cafeteria. If you are caught with food or drinks in the
hallways there will be consequences.
Tutoring has begun. Students must sign up in the main office during lunch periods or they cannot
attend. Students who wish to use the Library on Mondays to complete work, must also sign up in the
main office.
Please be advised that all students are to be supervised after school. Therefore, students are not
allowed to "hang around" after school without being supervised by an adult. This also includes
students "hanging around" at the West Jr. High School.
Students must follow the cashless procedures for lunch. Students must use the lock boxes to apply
money to their accounts. We will not be accepting money at the register any longer for breakfast or
lunch.
SPORTS:
Intramurals: Must have signed parental/guardian consent form. Forms are in the athletic office.
The 5:30 activity bus will be available.
The Pocono Mountain West Cheerleaders will be holding a basketball season cheerleading tryout for
those students interested in participating for the 2014-15 basketball season for our Junior Varsity
Team. The tryout will be held on Wednesday, November 19th from 3:00 - 5:15 in the WHS
Cafeteria. If you are interested in trying out for this team, please see Coach Behr in Room 117 before
the end of the week for important information and papers which must be completed before attending
tryouts next week.
Just a reminder that girls' basketball tryouts for 9th through 12th graders will be held on Monday,
November 17th at the Jr. High School. You MUST have a physical in order to tryout.
Wrestling: Today’s practice is cancelled.
Attention all serious baseball players who wish to try out for the baseball team in the spring...Baseball
workouts will take place immediately after school, and run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Baseball workouts will be outside on the fields so dress accordingly. You will ride the 5:30 activity
bus home. Any questions see Mr. Gettmann in room 246.

CLUBS&ACTIVITES:
Seniors: Please bring a blue or black pen with you to the cap and gown meeting today. You will be
filling out forms and you must use a blue or black pen to complete them.
The National Art Honor Society is accepting applications for the 2014-2015 school year. If you have
taken art classes at WHS and would like to get more involved with our art community, stop by D003 to
get an application to join the National Art Honor Society from Mrs. Miele-Beatty during A Breakfast
only. Applications due by today, Thursday 11/13.
Discount season ski passes for Camelback are available in the Main office.
The 2014-15 Pocono Mtn. West yearbooks are available for purchase. Buy early to get the lowest
possible price. Prices will be going up on December 1st, so buy yours NOW! Information about
purchasing your yearbook is available outside of room 231.
Get the "Inside Scoop" on all of the fun ways to hang out with friends and support your fellow panthers
by picking up "The Inside Scoop" from one of the brightly colored mailboxes hanging around the
school.
GUIDANCE INFORMATION:
Pleasant Valley High School has been approved as an ACT Test Center for December 13, 2014. We
welcome any interested students to this added test date and site.
Free PSAT Crams online: Kaplan Test Prep is providing free cram sessions for the PSAT. Students
who attend will learn their 10 Top Score-Raising Strategies and review tips for time management

COLLEGE NIGHTS & OPEN HOUSES
Juniors and Seniors please come to the guidance office and see the list of colleges that are coming to
visit in November. Come down and sign up for a visit today!
