SCHOLAR-ACTIVITY AWARD CERTIFICATES FOR 2014 GRADUATING SENIORS
The VPA Office will mail certificates for the Scholar-Activity Award to you upon receiving the number
needed by your school. PLEASE EMAIL TO WSCOTT@VPAONLINE.ORG THE NUMBER OF
COPIES NEEDED.
Here is a chance to honor your students for their accomplishments academically and participation in
VPA sponsored varsity sports or activities. These certificates may be presented to graduating
seniors if they have met the following criteria:
1)
A graduating senior in the Class of 2013.
2)
A cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
3)
Participation in a Vermont Principals' Association sponsored sport or activity (drama festival,
debate and forensics, etc.) in Vermont for at least 2 years.
4)
Has exhibited outstanding school leadership and citizenship.
AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 2014
Two “Award of Excellence” certificates given by the National Federation of State High School
Associations are being sent to you.
Please use the following criteria to select one boy and one girl from your school to whom this award
should be given:






Treat teammates with respect.
Treat opponents with respect: shake hands prior to and after contests.
Respect judgment of contest officials, abide by rules of the contest and display no behavior
that could incite fans.
Cooperate with officials, coaches or directors and fellow participants to conduct a fair contest.
Accept seriously the responsibility and privilege of representing school and community; display
positive public action at all times.
Live up to high standard of sportsmanship established by coach or director.
