RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Synthesis of Pt catalyst deposited on activated graphitic carbon (Pt/AGC)
2013
University of South Carolina, Columbia
 Synthesis of AGC using various activation and stabilization procedure
including high temperature pyrolysis
 Modified polyol method to obtain highly stable catalyst for PEMFC applications
Development of Highly Active Pt2Ni/CCC Alloy Catalyst for PEMFC 2012 to 2013
Center for Electrochemical Engineering, Columbia
 Carbon based composite catalyst (CCC) with active catalytic sites for the oxygen
reduction reaction (ORR) is used as a catalyst support.
 Hybrid cathode catalyst (HCC) combines the contributions of active sites from the
CCC support and Pt-alloy catalyst.
Effect of platinum loading on catalyst performance in PEMFC
2011 to 2012
University of South Carolina, Columbia
 Utilization of the Pt surface area depends on the cathode Pt loading.
 The mass activity increases when the loading decreases due to increase of catalyst
utilization.
