Cancer Services The Future at SWBH Vision To provide comprehensive and state of the art surgical and medical cancer services to the people of Sandwell, West Birmingham and the wider Black Country as locally as possible - through a number of strategic service and academic partnerships within the Black Country Alliance, regional cancer centres and local universities Strategic Objective By April 2017 the majority of Surgical, Medical and Clinical Oncology for the population served by the Black Country Alliance will be provided by the three partners of the alliance. Patients at the Heart of the Service • By 2017 - the vast majority of cancer services will be provided by us from our premises - even more than currently • We will have built an expert high quality multi-disciplinary team in whom patients can trust • Where care by necessity is provided at other trusts (e.g. rare cancer surgery, radiotherapy) - we will support patients with travel arrangements • We will be part of a network of providers working together in the interests of patients • Delivering the best possible cancer care
