Sociology and Equity Studies in Education Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto Posting date: January 31, 2007 Closing date: March 9, 2007 Contractually Limited Position in the area of Anti-racist and Feminist Studies in Education The Department of Sociology and Equity Studies in Education, OISE/UT invites applications for a one year Contractually Limited Position in the area of AntiRacist and Feminist Studies in Education. We are looking for an individual who can teach graduate courses in critical sociology of race, the politics of feminism, anti-racism and resistance, as well as theories of globalization, transnationalism and migration. The person hired will also teach one half course (School and Society) in the Initial Teacher Education program. Candidates working with intersectional feminist, anti-racist, post/anti-colonial and/or critical sociology perspectives will be preferred. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer and will begin July1, 2007. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent), with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research. The position will include teaching five half courses (4 in the graduate program and 1 in the initial teacher education program), some graduate student supervision and contribution to departmental committees.
