4: Resources and Justification
Resources
For the 2014-2015 School Year, all mandated training will be conducted via turn-key and will utilize in-house resources, with two exceptions.
Dyslexia Training, which is required by the NJDOE, will have to be conducted by a NJDOE approved or certified provider. The provider the district is
looking to enlist to provide Dyslexia PD is the Rutgers Center for Literacy Development. The total costs for 2 two-hour trainings are $2,200.
CPR training, which is now required by the NJDOE, also has to be conducted by NJDOE approved or certified providers. The providers the district enlisted
are the following:
Darby Torres: CPR Training, May 23, 2014, $1,035
Lifesavers, Inc.: CPR/AED Training, August 28, 2014, $1,575
It is the goal for future years to have 3 Metuchen staff members trained as trainers for CPR/AED at the rate of $750 per person so that all future trainings
can be handled in-house via turn-key which will be much less expensive every year moving forward.
