These are figures which confirm Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna's global vocation and its status, together with its Las Vegas and Hong Kong platforms, as the most important trade fair in the beauty world. "It was an even greater triumph than we expected with huge numbers", said Duccio Campagnoli, President of Bologna Fiera and So.Ge.Cos - the company which organises Cosmoprof - "the 2014 edition of Cosmoprof had an extraordinary number of visitors and a powerful media impact thanks to the prestigious involvement of Pier Luigi Pizzi, Oliviero Toscani and Franca Sozzani and it also reaffirmed its international vocation, its specific B2B character which is ever more professional with 400 top buyers and as many as 24 foreign groups present. Cosmopack was launched three days before Cosmoprof, the jewel in the crown of the industry, third party production and packaging and increasingly an event in itself at the same time as being a vehicle for Cosmoprof content, growing strongly with hospitality to the most important industries representing this mainly Italian sphere of excellence. Cosmoprof brought together communities of professionals, artists and creative people in the beauty world. Great international magazines such as Vogue, Elle and the American WWD returned to Cosmoprof and breathed life into meetings in which research, analysis and forecasts on cosmetics the world over were presented. All this was positively reflected in record attendance figures which gave us an opportunity to show how all-round and up-to-date our commercial and information services are. Cosmoprof then spread its wings and moved out of the trade fair quarter into the city of Bologna with the Cosmoprof Beauty in Vogue Night events which culminated in an all night event at Palazzo Re Enzo. And our work is continuing tomorrow with the organisation of Cosmoprof Las Vegas in July and Hong Kong in November. A big thank you to all the operators who made this great victory possible and to the city of Bologna and its government who constantly worked with us to contribute to the success of this wonderful event". "Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna", commented Fabio Rossello, President of Cosmetics Italia, an association of Italian cosmetics firms, "has once again showed, in its 47th year, that it is the lead event worldwide for the beauty sector and a platform of choice for meetings, exchanges of opinion and discussions between professionals and skilled operators. The partnership between Cosmetica Italia and BolognaFiere has once more strengthened the chain concept which represents the Italian cosmetics industry in the world. A range of activities and themed discussions were organised to respond to the ever more differentiated needs of the various elements in distribution in the various pavilions. On top of the positive numbers, the satisfaction of the Cosmetica Italia companies is linked to the return of a number of Italian operators and meetings with buyer delegations". A feature of the 2014 edition was great events and installations. The Service Centre, the trade fair complex welcome area, was designed by Pier Luigi Pizzi, celebrated architect director whose work includes the unforgettable scenic work which recently graced the rooms of the Palazzo Mocenigo in Venice's Perfume Museum. The prestigious Vogue Breauty Talents Lounge was hosted inside with conversations and meetings with well-known professionals and emerging new talents in the world of beauty selected by Primo Vogue Beauty Talents which, thanks to Cosmoprof, chose the 15 winners who were given their awards by Duccio Campagnoli, Franca Sozzani, the mayor of Bologna Virginio Merola and by Alberta Ferretti. Popular personalities such as Mario Balotelli, Laura Chiatti, Cristina Chiabotto, Anastasia Soare of Beverly Hills and Rossano Ferretti visted a Cosmprof with a greater-than-ever media appeal. The trends which Cosmoprof 2014 highlighted included a growth in natural and organic products and great attention to environmental friendliness in most cosmetic production houses from raw materials and manufacturing processes to packaging. Innovative design involving the absence of carpets, 'green' rest points for visitors, re-using litter in the fittings of the stands: these were the strengths of the Green Pavillion which organised an exhibition by celebrated photographer Oliviero Toscani – for the first time of flowers and plants - to draw attention to this important issue with images scattered over the whole trade fair area inspired by Toscani's personal, unusual idea of beauty. Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2014 presented 66 meetings and forums to highlight the professional vocation of this B2B fair where the focus was on professionals learning new information and upgrading their knowledge. Three days before Cosmoprof, Cosmopack 2014 was launched, the fair focusing on the production chain with 14,000 square metres of exhibition space sold, up 9% on last year with 400 exhibitors from 33 different countries. Its creative contents, the products presented and its innovative formula made this 'show within a show' a unique event. Cosmopack encompasses the whole cosmetics industry production chain from raw materials to machinery, the most innovative packaging and the highest performance textures in a single great hub. After the success of The Lipstick Factory, the special event which brought the whole lipstick production chain together last year, this year a new installation was set up, a new journey through the international excellence of the sector: THE POWDER FACTORY. A fascinating journey through the development and manufacturing of one of the first cosmetic products - face powder - from production to packaging. A further initiative was reserved for the Cosmpoack exhibitors who were given the opportunity to express their technology by interpreting the Cosmoprof 2014 advertising image in their own ways with its woman emerging from a 'flower' in flowing textiles. The exhibitors produced items which gave maximum freedom to their creativity and innovation, expressing the idea of the link between their core businesses and the Cosmoprof image to perfection. There were 5 winners: Pink Frogs for “Skincare”, Toly for the most innovative packaging, HTC for “Packaging Make up" and, joint winners, Ancorotti and Nastritex for makeup innovation. For the 2014 too, the International Buyer Programme was one of the most important projects at the service of visitors and exhibitors. More than 400 top buyers from Southeast Asia, South America, USA, Canada, UAE, Iraq, Russia and South Africa as well as Europe met with international exhibitors in more than 1700 meetings planned by Cosmoprof. With this special service offered to its exhibitors, Cosmoprof reaffirmed its status as a complete and innovative business platform for the sector for all distribution channels. It was an occasion for companies to increase their brand visibility, support new product launches and discover new trends and fashions. Cosmoprof 2014 was a great platform for hair sector professionals, too, and the latest hair fashions were displayed in the spectacular On Hair show with professionals of world fame and Hair Forum workshops dedicated to hairstyling. The prestigious names present included the L'Orèal “Color Explosion”, TONI&GUY, GHD, Hob Salon by Fama, Babyliss Pro-Rusk and Keune and the L’Oréal tribute to the memory of Aldo Coppola. The next COSMOPROF WORLDWIDE BOLOGNA appointment will be March 2015 in Bologna.
