Breast Pump Rental Information
Women’s Hospital of Greenville Hospital System
University Medical Center offers rentals and sales
of Medela® products, including the Symphony®
hospital- grade double pumping system.
If you are interested in renting a breast pump
before going home, please ask your nurse to
contact one of the lactation consultants, who will be
happy to help you.
If you are at home already, you can make an
appointment with a lactation consultant to rent a
pump by calling (864) 455-BABY (2229).
Whether you are a new mother or are experienced
with breastfeeding, the lactation consultants are
here to help you reach your breastfeeding goals.
One mom who used the services of the lactation
consultants reported, “The lactation consultants
provided me with the great support system and
were very encouraging to me in a time of
uncertainty. They were very accessible in the
hospital and on the phone with encouraging words.
I also rented a breast pump from the hospital, and I
loved that it was so quiet and efficient and that I
could easily take it places.”

The credit card you supply will not be
charged unless you indicate to us that you
would like your monthly fee to be deducted
from your account every month OR if you
are 2 weeks late with your payment and you
have not returned the breast pump.
A charge of $25 will be added to your
account if a check is returned for nonsufficient funds
Please note that you will be responsible for
the breast pump and rental fees of the
breast pump as long as it is in your
possession.

RATES
o Symphony*
$20/week or $60/month
*Note: A breast pump kit that includes breast
shields, bottles and tubing must be purchased if not
obtained while in the hospital.
GENERAL RENTAL INFORMATION
Please read the contract carefully and note the
following:
o Breast pump kits are single-user items
o Extra parts or replacement parts can be
purchased from the rental station
o Refunds will not be given after three days; if
you receive a refund, a fee for the time the
breast pump was in your possession will be
deducted from it.
o Payment is expected at the time of rental:
Cash, check, money orders, Visa®,
Discover®,
American
Express®
or
Mastercard® are accepted
o A credit card number is needed for rentals
of breast pumps: Payment, however, can be
made in the form of cash, check, or money
order as well as credit card (Visa,
RENEWALS
Bills will be set two week before the due date. If
you wish to extend the contract of your pump
rental, please return payment with your bill in the
self-addressed envelope, or if you prefer to renew
via credit card, you may do so with a phone call.
RETURNS
Remove all parts of double-pumping system. Wipe
pump and case with a damp cloth to remove dust
and dried milk.
Return pumps Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30
p.m.

Breast Pump Rental Information
BabyWeigh Scales™
Medela BabyWEigh Scales are available for rental.
The scale is for electronic measurement of baby
weight just before and after breastfeeding.
A credit card number is needed for rental of the
Medela BabyWeigh Scales. Payment, however,
can be made in the form of cash or check as well
as credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American
Express, and Discover are accepted). Rate is
$5/day.
