ST ANNE’S PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER NO 7– 12/13 22 March 2013 ST ANNE’S CHURCH AND PROCESSION SUNDAY 24 MARCH Come and join us on Sunday 24 March for a short procession and then a service at St Anne’s Church! Our choir will be singing and all Key Stage 2 children are welcome. The short procession (with a donkey) will be along Edward Street and Hyde Road before the service. Children need to meet at the corner of St Anne’s Road and Edward Street at 9.30am when staff will be present. It is expected that we will arrive at church just before 10.30am. The service is expected to finish at 11.40am. We would love to see as many parents/carers and Key Stage 1 children as possible too. If there are problems regarding bad weather and any of the four staff planning to attend are unable to get to Denton, Governors and adults from St Anne’s Church will help to supervise the children on the walk. If parents/carers prefer, children can meet staff at St Anne’s Church around 10.30am. SCHOOL DISCO All children and adults had a great time £113.14 was raised for school funds. RED NOSE DAY The non-uniform day and School Council Cake Sale on 15 March 2013 raised an amazing £274.03 for this charity. KEY STAGE 2 SATS MEETING FOR PARENTS (Year 6) – 25 March 2013 at 3.30pm. A separate letter has been sent home. EASTER GARDENS Reminder – The children are invited to create a mini Easter garden and bring it into school on Tuesday 26 March 2013. There will be Easter Garden displays in classrooms from 2.45pm on that day. Parents/Carers are welcome to join us as we all look around. All children who bring in an Easter Garden will be given a small chocolate egg as a thank you. St Anne’s Church have provided seven freetrade Easter eggs as a prize for each class. The names of all pupils who bring in an Easter garden will go into a draw. CERTIFICATE ASSEMBLY There will be a final certificate assembly for this term at 9.05am on Thursday 28 March 2013. Only school certificates will be parents/carers are welcome to join us. presented. SCHOOL DINNERS Reminder – Dinner money is due on Monday mornings (or first day of school week) in advance. One week’s notice in writing is required to change from school dinners to packed lunches (or vice versa) as dinners have to be ordered in advance. PARENTMAIL Any parents/carers who wish to join Parentmail may do so at any time by completing a form available from the school office. EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES The following activities will be available during the next half-term. All activities will end at 4pm unless stated otherwise. Please ensure that your child/children is/are collected promptly using the front door. The activities will run for 5 weeks, starting week commencing 22 April 2013 and finishing week ending 24 May 2013. PE Please ensure that your child has appropriate clothes (red shorts – above the knee – and white T shirt only – no football shirts or shorts please!) to change into for PE and a pair of pumps – not trainers.
