The sediments of upper cretaceous, which are reported between depth of 3710 to Depth 3980ft, terminate the borehole succession.this last interval is dated as upper Cenomanian based on the presence of idex angiosperm pollen(e.g. Scabratriporites Simpliformis ).A major hiatus is recorded in the studied well, based on the absence of At least, the upper Permian, lower Jurassic and lower cretaceous palynoflora. Palynomorphs and palynofacies analysis pointed that upper carboniferous to the "So-called" Triassic succession was deposited in acontintental environment with minor Marine influence at certain horizons(sample 2) from the abundant of land derived Elements(spores, pollen and organic debris).this phase wase followed by shallow Marginal marine conditions, which continued during the Upper Cenomanian from the Dominated of terrestrial palynomorphs with increased in percentage of marine elements (dinoflagellate cysts, marine acritarches and microforaminiferal test linings)which indicates Unequivocal marine origin of sediments. Also,2100 ft upper Jurassic strata were investigated palynologicaly From the GS24-1 borehole, which is dated as middle-Upper Jurassic(Upper Bathonian- Lower Oxfordian) based on marker dinoflagellate cysts(lithodiniajurassicaand Systematophorapenicilla). The sediments of intervals(between depths of 7230ft-6090ft) Are dated as Cenomanian age based on the presence of index angiosperm pollen (Afropolliskahramanensis,TricolporopollenitesandTriporites sp.).this interval is overlain By apreviously dated TuronianLower Senonian interval in which the present palynomorphs Did not give direct age.Previsionally designated as "Undifferentiated Upper Cretaceos". A major unconformity is also recorded in this borehole, based on the absence of the Lower Cretaceous sediments.Thepalynomorphs and palynofacies were also reported from this Borehole which suggest contintal to marginal marine environments for the lower part of The Middle-Upper Jurassic and a marginal marine environment for most of the Midlle- Upper Jurassic,Cenomanian and Undifferentiated Upper Cretaceous sequences.
