Elizabeth Lamerton Senior Clinical Pharmacist (Renal Medicine) at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Liz graduated from Strathclyde University in 1995 and completed her pre-registration and basic grade years at the Western Infirmary in Glasgow. After a short period at the Christie Hospital in Manchester she moved to Salford Royal. She was given a post in renal medicine and has worked with the renal team since 1999. In my extended role as pharmacist independent prescriber Liz undertakes pharmacist led clinics for drug education and immunosuppressant monitoring for patients with auto-immune kidney diseases. She works on the in-patient wards providing a clinical pharmacy service to renal, high dependency and haemato-oncology patients. Liz lectures pharmacy undergraduates and post-graduates at the University of Manchester and has written chapters in the Beginners Guide to Renal Therapeutics. She was an active member of the UK Renal Pharmacy Group from 2002 to 2012, as Conference Programme Chair and Treasurer.
