People credited with this unit standard are able to: select carpet and cut samples; bevel, overlock, or bind carpet samples; and label and pack samples. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Select carpet and cut samples. Evidence requirements 1.1 Carpet selected for samples conforms to work instruction and quality standard. 1.2 Cutting equipment is operated according to workplace practice. Evidence requirements 2.1 Equipment is operated according to workplace practice. Range bevelling, overlocking, binding. 2.2 Sample sits flat with yarn ends trimmed. 2.3 Overlocking or binding does not fray. Outcome 3 Label and pack samples. Evidence requirements 3.1 Labels are applied to sample according to work instruction and workplace practice. Range 3.2 labels identify sample, label location on sample, label alignment, label secure. Samples are packed according to work instruction. Range quantity, combination.
