Current Interests: Chemical thermodynamics, kinetics, catalysis and mechanism of
inorganic and hydrometallurgical reactions/ processes: Identification/
characterisation, thermodynamics (stability and solubility) of quasi-/metastable species/ transient species-reaction kinetic intermediates; Solubility of
non-/less-polar gases in aqueous electrolytes; High temperature activityactivity diagrams of multi-component systems related to metal and material
processing; Thermodynamic, kinetic and mechanism modeling of metal
dissolution/ precipitation and adsorption/ desorption in the presence of
promoters/ additives; Metal extraction from wastes and lean and nonconventional sources; Precious/ valuable metal recovery from industrial
wastes/ residues/ by-products; Metal solution purification and impurity
control, Water management: surface and waste water treatment for suitable
application, EIA & pollution abatement (prevention/ remediation),
Hydrometallurgical process flow sheet selection and optimisation,
Development of new materials/ reagents (synthesis/ characteriasation,
testing/ evaluation, application / quality control) and analytical methods.
