SUMMARY OF JOB SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The SOE Bilingual Resource Assistant will provide conversational Spanish practice and
tutoring for graduate and undergraduate students in the SOE pursuing a bilingual teaching
license and preparing for the bilingual Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI). Applicants should
have an active interest in helping bilingual teacher candidates improve their Spanish
speaking skills.

Meet with teacher candidates on or off campus
Engage in conversations in Spanish
Provide practice OPI questions in Spanish
Explain errors to students and provide feedback and correction on grammar and
pronunication in Spanish
5. Be comfortable correcting students’ speaking errors and have understanding of
grammar to explain errors and corrections
6. Additional office duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Education or Work Experience:
 Previous experience working with students studying Spanish
Required Knowledge and Skills:
 Native or native-like proficiency in speaking Spanish
 Advanced proficiency in speaking English
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
