LinkedIn Policy for OBA parent group and industry-led subgroups Membership - - Membership of the parent Oxford Business Alumni group, is vetted and approved by the Alumni Relations Office. All OBA Network members (SBS alumni, Oxford University alumni, Executive Education participants and current post graduate SBS students) are eligible to become a LinkedIn group member. Membership of the industry-led subgroups, are automatic, assuming they have already been vetted and approved for the parent Oxford Business Alumni group. Any OBA LinkedIn member, who has a reasonable interest in the particular subgroup, may join. Members can join more than one subgroup. Any non-OBA Network member, who could be a valuable contribution to the membership and connections through LinkedIn, can be considered for LinkedIn group and subgroup membership by the Alumni Relations Office (ARO) and Careers Centre (CC). The individual must be vouched for by an OBN student or alumnus member, with an explanation of what value their membership can bring. The student or alumnus must make the request to the ARO and CC, outside of the LinkedIn platform. [This does not give the non-OBA Network member membership into the OBA Network however.] Postings - Posting must be relevant and apply to the majority audience of the group or subgroup. Posting can include: news items, job opportunities, continued learning elements, select events, and best practices. Postings can be made by all managers and by all members of the group or subgroup. Any inappropriate postings will be immediately removed and OBA group and subgroup membership will be revoked. Managers - - The ARO administrators and CC administrators are the official managers of the parent and subgroups. OBN student chairs or OBN alumni leaders, who are interested in becoming a manager, can request in writing with explanation of their purpose, and the ARO and CC will consider the request. The ARO and CC retain the right to end managerial duties due to: lack of contribution or activity, new OBN leadership, abuse of rights, or inappropriate use of information or postings.
