Introduction
Age UK Norfolk’s mission is ‘to support older people in Norfolk to enjoy the
opportunities and meet the challenges of later life’.
A range of services are provided directly and where possible Age UK Norfolk
works to promote, develop and co-ordinate other services by actively supporting
local groups and voluntary effort. Age UK Norfolk celebrates age - we work with
older people across Norfolk to improve quality of life, promote independence and
to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.
Although independent and autonomous, Age UK Norfolk is part of a national network
of Age UK groups.
Role Description for: Collections Volunteer – Various locations Sheringham,
Cromer, Kings Lynn and Dereham
Role Purpose: As a local charity we want to see older people live well in Norfolk
but can only do this by raising funds to support the services we provide.
Main Duties
 To help raise funds to support the services we provide to older people helping
them to live well in Norfolk.
Specific Responsibilities
 To increase our income and raise our profile by holding bucket collections, in
supermarkets on street collections and at other venues across the county.
 To adhere to the policies and practices of Age UK Norfolk
 Cover one collection day slot of 2 hours or more
 Acknowledge and thank everyone that donates
 To return collection material to the assigned return point.
Person Specification
 Enthusiasm and willingness
 Good communication skills
 Reliability and trustworthiness
Other: Two satisfactory references. Volunteers may on occasion be required to attend
training or meetings at Head Office (Old Catton).
