Minutes of Meeting
1. Opening and introductions

Meeting started with a quick round of introduction following organizations attended the meeting:
ACTED,RDF,PIN, FIWA, LAMP,HANDS and District government representative
2. Changes to Agenda

3. Situation/ Agencies Updates
Distributions

HANDS has distributed 1250 roofing kits in UC Jhando Maree and Bagan Jarwar and the target of
roofing kits is completed now
Early Recovery:





HANDS has completed 802 ORS in UC Jhando Maree and Bagan Jarwar and 20 houses in
village Kamaro Shareef of UC Shaikh Moosa is also completed it is a model village project.these
20 families occupied the houses
People In Need has completed 19 shelters in UC Sanjar Chang and 555 shelters are under
construction in UC Sanjar Chang and Chamber 1
RDF has completed its assessment in UC Jhando Maree and Meerabad for 400 ORS; material
distribution has started.200 beneficiaries has been selected in both UCs.RDF has started 100
shelters construction in UC Jhando Maree. Construction material has been distributed to 50
beneficiaries
FIWA has completed 10 shelters in UC Bukhero Shareef where FIWA is planning to construct 100
shelters with the support of philanthropist
LAMP has started the construction work of 500 shelters with the support of IOM. Foundation work
has started for all shelters and 250 shelters are started the walls construction
4. Priority area for distributions or early recovery
Partners shared that there is shelter need in UC Dasori and DFP shelter Cluster visited the area last
week but it is observed that there is no immense need of shelters and most of the area was not
affected badly by flood 2011

Field visits lesson learned are shared and partners should strictly follow the quality work and
follow up for remaining working, venders need to supply quality material
Partners are suggested by cluster members to maintain a proper documentation and record
keeping to avoid the unnecessary complains from community

ACTION: Organizations are invited to report their activities using the 3W format including
maximum details (UC, villages or distribution sites); the Shelter Cluster District Focal Point
Tando Allah Yar can assist if organizations face issues filling the format. Updated should be
provided on a very regular basis to the Shelter cluster to avoid duplication of effort
7. Other action points/AOB:
 SC can facilitate partners for area selection, and provide guidance for beneficiaries process
 ACTION: Work plan and progress of shelter project need to be shared with the District
Government authority and the Social Welfare Department
 ACTION: Strong community mobilization and proper information sharing is required where
projects have been started and also for the utilization of roofing kit
 ACTION: Joint field visit is planned for 9th Oct 2012 to see the different approaches of the Shelter
Cluster members
