(1) Aldridge (born 1813 in Frederick Co. VA). He was an “invalid and had no

In the 1860 Frederick County Virginia census, John is listed as retired with $4,170 in real estate and $3,201 in
personal estate.

The 1850 Frederick County census – above - lists him as “invalid” living with his parents. The 1860 census lists
him as unemployed and living at his parents’ home.

Uriah was involved in a family argument about inheritances and sometime around 1857 gathered his family
around him and left Virginia for Indiana, as cousin Gary Edwards says “Uriah got the money about $1,000 and
Elijah got the land”.

What was the Dick farm is still located on Dick Road outside Montpelier, Indiana.

Uriah is buried in the Asbury Cemetery outside Montpelier, Indiana. Sarah Jane, his second wife, is buried in
the same cemetery but next to her first husband Harvey Kitterman.

According to cousin Gary Edwards, documents in Winchester Virginia indicate that: John Dick bought 100
acres from Joseph Baker in 1817 for $250. This land was supposedly from the original Peter Dick property, which
had been sold to Mr. Baker, and Baker then sold it later to John.

Elijah had two wives. Wife #1 Margaret Widmyer (1829-1864) whom he married on 25 November
1844 and wife #2 Mary Lawson Lipscomb (1829 - 1893).
Elijah’s children:
(1) John (1845 – 1924) who married Mary Hottle (1850 - 1926) and they had five children: Oliver,
R.B., Orpha, Fannie, Clint
(2) Jacob (?1847 - 1880?) who married Margaret Bishop and they had fourteen children.
(3) Mary A. (12 February 1849 -?) who married Joseph Shade (4 October 1848 - 26 May 1928)
and they had eight children.
(4) Margaret E. “Martha” (21 March 1851-27 January 193) who married Edward R. Miller and
they had six children.
(5) Elizabeth A (19 December 1852 – 8 July 1936) who married Robert Luttrell (14 March
1840 – 4 March 1923).Robert and Elizabeth are buried at Wesley Chapel, Frederick Co, VA. They
had five children.
(6) Peter B. (1854 - 1942) who, on 12 August 1875, married Emily Shade (1856 - 1941), daughter
of Joseph Shade and Sarah Jane Bohrer of Morgan Co. VA, and they had four children: Delilah
(1894 – 1896), Jerry C. (1882 – 1956), Irving Waren (1876 – 1958), Sara B. (1878 – 1958). Peter B.
died in Morgan County WV in 1923, age 69, and was buried in Greenwood United Methodist
Church Cemetery.
Irving Waren married “Nellie” Oneida Seely on 7 June 1899. [Was she is first wife] Irving
died in 1958 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Morgan County, WV. Nellie died in
1969.
Sara B., on 31 January 1901, married Eugene E. Collins (d. 1961), son of Charlie F. Collins
and Elizabeth (Linza) Virginia Bohrer. They had: Helen, Wilkie, Georgia, Sara, Delphia
(7) Henry B. (?1856-?) who married Laferra Place
(8) Charles J.F. (30 August 1859-18 July 1955) who married Emily Catherine Shirley (21
September 1859-14 April 1916)
(9) Zilpha Ann (26 May 1881-26 September 1934) who married James Buchannon Stotler
(1 February 1857-9 September 1939). They had: Oneta (Anita) (1896 – 1988) who married Leslie
Clowser; Dorothy (1901 – 1988) who married Brenton Batt
(10) Phoena Catherine (??) who married Richard L. Omps
(11) Thomas J. (??) who married Alice V. Shirley
