Beautiful Things !
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Children love to create things and bring home special treasures that they have made especially
for someone they love. Unfortunately the school does not provide us with all the little “extras”
that children love to embellish their work with. Maybe they want to add something little to a
homemade birthday card or they are making a surprise picture to give to a special friend or
family member on the weekend. The children may even decide to include these items at a
science center or into our sensory bin for exploration. We encourage the children to use their
creativity, imagination and sharing of resources, therefore we are seeking your help.
Beautiful Things is a term we use in kindergarten for a variety of arts and craft supplies that
you may have around your home. Here are a few ideas but by no means are limited to…..
Pipe cleaners, tissue paper, corks, paper towel rolls, wrapping paper scraps, fabric scraps,
wallpaper, buttons, glitter, stickers, pom poms, feathers, popsicle sticks, foam pieces from
packing boxes, google eyes, foam shapes, felt, pine cones, leaves, pebbles, shells, beads, yarn,
foam egg cartons, etc.…………
If you have any of these items and are willing to donate them to our “Beautiful Things”, please
send them to school with your child. We appreciate any and all donations. For sanitary reasons
we are unable to accept paper egg cartons or toilet paper rolls.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mondello and Mrs. Davis
